Every Friday in our Weekend Watchdog feature, we post suggested questions for scheduled Sunday guests. You can add your own questions in the comment thread. We\’ll also include contact information for the shows, so we can let them know what their viewers want asked.
And on Sunday at 4 PM ET, tune in to Air America Radio\’s \”Seder on Sundays\” program, where I\’ll offer the Weekend Watchdog Wrap-Up.
Both NBC\’s Meet The Press and CBS\’ Face The Nation feature Obama surrogates Sen. John Kerry and former Sen. Tom Daschle, and Clinton surrogates Sen. Bill Nelson and Gov Ed Rendell.
As there are many substantive issues that voters in the remaining primary states would like to hear more from the candidates about, here are recommended questions for the shows to ask their guests:
1. This week\’s dismal jobs report deepened concerns about the economy, and the coming stimulus package does not address any underlying issues such as job creation, health insurance, fuel prices and crumbling infrastructure. What will your candidate do put our economy back on track?
2.The House and Senate remain at odds over whether to include immunity for telecom companies in the latest surveillance bill. Both candidates oppose immunity, but will they lead a filibuster if the final legislation includes it?
3. The House recently passed, again, legislation to end subsidies to Big Oil and shift the revenue to generating renewable energy. The last time the issue reached the Senate, supporters came up short of overcoming a conservative filibuster, with Sen. John McCain not showing up to vote. What will the candidates do to step up pressure and get this bill passed?
